Fleuron du cinma de l're reaganienne, l'instar de Rambo2, Rocky4 installa dfinitivement Stallone au panthon des superstars hollywoodiennes, avant de connatre la dsaffection du public, au dbut des annes90. Le quatrime n'a plus grand-chose voir avec le film original: devenu un champion hypertrophi et imbattable, chouchou des mdias, Balboa voit son ami Apollo Creed mourir sous les assauts brutaux du champion de boxe sovitique Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren). Sur la musique de Survivor, Rocky verse une larme et prend une importante dcision: c'est jur, il vengera son copain en remontant sur le ring! Du cinma savoureusement annes80, tout en strass et toc, avec James Brown et la sculpturale Brigitte Nielsen en apparitions de marque.
