Naissance d'un mythe. En adaptant la bande dessine de James O'Barr, Alex Proyas ne savait pas que The Crow entrerait dans la lgende ds son tournage. Ce film fantastique, sombre et gothique, suit les pas vengeur d'un jeune homme ressuscit la suite de son assassinat et du viol et meurtre de sa petite amie. Transform en super hros aux forces dcuples, il ne vivra plus que pour supprimer les tueurs et le cerveau du complot. Dans le rle du hros tortur, Brandon Lee trouve ici son plus beau rle et le dernier puisqu'il mourut dans d'tranges circonstances pendant le tournage. Ce qui contribua faire de The Crow, un film maudit. Alex Proyas cre de magnifiques dcors pour incarner une noire cit o les criminels et le mal pullulent. La bande originale, entirement interprte par les meilleurs groupes de metal du moment, renforce l'atmosphre machiavlique de la ville et de la mission du justicier, mene par le corbeau qui l'a ressuscit. La ralisation trs stylise provoque de vritables moments de tensions au cours de scnes d'action efficaces et laisse la place la posie et la grce lorsque le hros sombre dans la mlancolie. Ce double DVD accorde enfin une place mrite un film-rfrence qui a engendr deux suites et une srie tlvise. Un must absolu! --Marc Maesen
